Volunteer Programs

Memorial Hospital Miramar offers a wide variety of volunteer opportunities for those who are available to share their time and talents to help others. Some positions require regular hours, while others offer flexible hours. Volunteer opportunities are available for those who have limited mobility or are homebound. Volunteers work in many areas of the hospital, including:

Emergency Department Patient Relations

The Emergency Department can be fast-paced and stressful, requiring volunteers who are friendly, patient and compassionate.

Flower Delivery and Mailroom

These energetic volunteers make deliveries and run errands throughout the hospital. To fulfill their duties, volunteers must be able to walk long distances.

Gift Shop

Memorial's gift shop carries a variety of snacks, cards, floral arrangements, magazines, gift items and seasonal decorations. Cheerful and helpful volunteers are needed to assist customers with their selections.

Lobby Greeters and Escorts

Volunteer greeters and escorts direct visitors to places throughout the hospital.

Patients — as well as visiting friends and family members – may not be able to walk long distances. Volunteers transport patients and visitors by wheelchair.
