Volunteer Programs
Memorial Hospital Miramar offers a wide variety of volunteer positions for those willing to share their time and talents to help others. Some positions require regular hours, while others offer flexible hours.
Volunteer work is available even for those who have limited mobility or are homebound. Volunteers work in many areas of the hospital, including:
Emergency Department Patient Relations
The Emergency Department can be fast-paced and stressful, requiring volunteers who are friendly, patient and compassionate.
Flower Delivery and Mailroom
These energetic volunteers make deliveries and run errands throughout the hospital. To fulfill their duties, volunteers must be able to walk long distances.
Gift Shops
Memorial’s gift shops carry a variety of snacks, cards, floral arrangements, magazines, gift items and seasonal decorations. Cheerful and helpful volunteers are needed to assist customers with their selections.
Lobby Greeters and Escorts
Volunteer greeters and escorts direct visitors to places throughout the hospital.
Transportation
Patients — as well as visiting friends and family members — may not be able to walk long distances. Volunteers transport patients and visitors by wheelchair.
